PUJOL fuses the ferocity of punk rock with tender yet gritty lyricism and sonic traces of Americana, garage, and rock and roll. His roaring, piss-and-vinegar tunes encapsulate the modern, working artist’s plight and frustration, especially in songs like “Spooky Scary,” where Pujol sings, “I just want to make enough bread / To get to lay in bed / And watch Dr. Who with you and the bunnies.” From his gravelly vocal delivery to warm bouts of distortion and foot-stomping energy, PUJOL is reviving a familiar sound while imbuing it with a new, uncensored attitude, as seen on his successful 2014 sophomore LP, Kludge. Now, Pujol was nice enough to fill us in on a few of things that fuel his artistic vision.
