Amber Ibarreche “Trust” on view @ Alt Space, Sept 25 – Oct 4

A solo exhibition featuring new work by Amber Ibarreche
Exhibition Dates: September 25 – Oct 4
Opening Reception: September25 | 7-9pm

New York, NY [September 21, 2015] Alt Space is pleased to present “TRUST” a new exhibition by Amber Ibarreche. Using found objects, paintings, language, and sculpture Ibarreche seeks to disrupt the divisive patterns of culture grappling with materialism by repurposing what has been forgotten.  This process of readdressing that which is overlooked parallels the perpetual dialogue that she has with herself as an artist.

Intrinsically nomadic, Ibarreche has grown detached from physical objects but instead holds value in the experience of the moment. This daily manifestation is seen in her public journal via instagram from which her words challenge our perspective and natural connection to our humanity. With this show, Ibarreche has applied her words, at once absorbed by many while intangible in their pure existence upon found objects, material in nature and yet unseen by the masses, creating a new conversation. Through her process of reinterpreting her personal archive of poetry, “TRUST” breathes new consciousness into inanimate materials by taking her words and making them physical.
