I don’t think you could walk into a gig from New York to L.A., or anywhere in between, without seeing at least one person in a pair of docs. Dr. Martens quickly and easily became an integral part of fashion in a variety of creative scenes and industries. Highlighting their influence on culture and style, Dr. Martens has teamed up with artists to showcase emerging talent from varying backgrounds, share how their lives have been changed during quarantine, and of course, highlight the tie between fashion and creative expression with their Dr. Martens Presents series.

Some of the artists featured in this series are Tolliver and Blimes and Gab, who all hopped on a zoom call the other week. Finding themselves in similar circles in L.A., the three of them had a lot to chat about — not only in regards to what was shared in their videos in the series, but on music, spirituality, how they’re handling the pandemic, mutual connections, OnlyFans video editing, and tall person energy. There’s a lot of bad shit in the world and things can get a little dark, but if you want to have a few laughs while also reflecting on your relationship with the universe and if you believe in something greater than yourself, it’s definitely worth checking out their conversation below.

Most recently, Tolliver released a quarantine, party-by-yourself anthem “Say What” while Blimes and Gab released their debut record this summer after they halted their release scheduled for March 2020. While they’re not L.A. natives, if they’re any sort of representation of the innovation, wit, and talent in the music community there at the moment, the scene is in good shape.
