Listen: David Bowie — No Plan

Almost exactly a year ago we lost Starman, the gender defying, the effervescent and ethereal David Bowie. Blackstar, which was released a few days before his death, is his swan song. It’s a farewell and a coming to terms with death, legacy and mortality. Since Bowie’s death I’ve had a hard time listening to the record, I’m not emotionally stable enough to withstand it’s emotional price, not to mention it makes me ugly-cry hysterically (“I Can’t Give Everything Away” is the sound of heartbreak).

Today would have been David Bowie’s 70th birthday and the first anniversary of his death is only two days away. With that Columbia Records has released the first of Bowie’s post mortem music, an EP titled No Plan. There are four tracks — the titular “No Plan” and three tracks taken from Bowie’s Lazarus musical. There’s also a music video directed by Tom Hingston that pays homage to David Bowie’s classic film The Man Who Fell To Earth. Listen below:
