Death Trax is a mixtape series where people (somewhat obviously) curate music for their own funerals. This week writer Nick Fulton shares his playlist.
Making a playlist for my own funeral was an incredibly strange experience, because I couldn’t help but think of how other people would interpret the songs. I decided to go with a selection of songs by artists that have played a significant role throughout my life (nostalgic songs like David Bowie’s “Starman,” Michael Jackson’s “Another Part of Me” and The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Mayonaise”), and songs by artists that have played a significant role in my career as a music journalist (Puro Instinct’s “California Shakedown,” Girlpool’s “Chinatown” and Lenny Kravitz’s “Again”). I feel very privileged to have interviewed many talented artists over the years, some of whom are on this playlist.
