It’s hard to overstate how important H.R. is to contemporary punk and reggae — two genres seemingly at odds with each other. As Bad Brains H.R. was at the forefront of the hardcore punk scene in D.C. and as H.R. (Human Rights) he redefined both himself and reggae music. Basically, what I’m trying to get at is that H.R.’s upcoming performance at the Bowery Electric is one of the most important concerts and cultural events of the year.
