June 16: Dead Heavens Release Show with Hideout, Simon Doom @ Union Pool, 8pm ($12)

You don’t need to spend all your money on LSD to have a righteously trippy night–just come to Union Pool on the 16th!

Psychedelia professionals Dead Heavens are having their record release show with fellow drug-inducing musicians Hideout and Simon Doom. It’s sure to be a night full of slurring words, dripping colors and music that’ll fuel your wildest dreams. Dead Heavens is the project of guitarist and frontman Walter Schreifels (Vanishing Life, Gorilla Biscuits, Rival Schools, Quicksand, etc.). Their upcoming album Whatever Witch You Are takes advantage of the band’s robust experience in playing hard core and old school punk. The ’70s free-love psychedelic sound is given a memorizing punk rock twist like you’ve never heard before. Finally, an album that’ll bring the hippies and punk rockers together in harmony!
