Listen: BOYTOY “Mary Anne”

Surf rock is dead, long live surf rock is what I wanna hiss into your ears over and over after listening to “Mary Anne” the last single from BOYTOY.

The Female, but not fucking girly, brooklyn band founded in 2013 by Saara Untracht-Oakner and Glenn Van Dyke, and now supplemented with the punctuating drums of Chase Noelle, is back and will release Night Leaf  the 27th April on PaperCup Music/Stolen Body/Burger Records.

The first single has California vibes but their affiliation and roots with NYC, BOYTOY create something twanged with a dirtier and grimier east coast sound. The band continually puts out the type of music that proves that they’re not just some pussy girls playing cute music.

BOYTOY is playing tonight at Elsewhere alongside Honduras, details and tickets here. They’ll also be playing our Cult Citizen showcase at SXSW!
