EMA, of 2011’s excellent Past Life Martyred Saintswill be releasing a new album in 2014. We don’t have a release date yet (other than “spring”) for The Future Void, but we do have a song from the album. “Satellites” is a brooding song with jarring noise filtered in at seemingly random intervals. It builds off a piano riff into a very impressive crescendo. The more structured it becomes, the greater a song it becomes. EMA has always been a little challenging, but her songs always pay off by the end. We have little doubt that her new album will be at the least a very interesting listen.
