Brooklyn’s Hooray for Earth have built quite a nice niche for themselves since their debut album in 2008. They play a similar style of synth rock to bands like Future Islands and Twin Shadow. Considering that sound is becoming increasing popular, I’m sure we will be hearing the band’s name more and more as we get closer to the release of their new album, Racy in July. “Keys,” a song from said album, will be released as a single digitally next week, with a physical copy to follow in June. It’s an almost jaunty song, with a slight feeling of Caribbean rhythm to it in its beginning stages. It quickly expands into a more traditional rock composition, but keeps that same upbeat exuberance. It’s a good start as far as building expectations for Racy. Check it out below.
Racy is out July 29th on Dovecote. The “Keys” single is out digitally May 6th, with a physical copy following on June 17th. The band will also be playing Glasslands on May 5th.Other articles you may like
