Listen: Mac DeMarco “The Way You’d Love Her”

Mac DeMarco’s sun-warped pop is the near-perfect compliment to the latter days of spring. In fact, it was this time last year when many of us had Salad Days spinning on repeat. DeMarco’s warbly guitars weirdly channel that indescribable sense of mischief that accompanies the warm weather; that feeling of the seemingly endless possibilities ahead that you can’t quite put your finger on. Later this summer, DeMarco will release Another One, an eight-song “mini LP” featuring all new material to soundtrack a rooftop party or relaxing day in the park. “The Way You’d Love Her” is our first taste of the project and it delivers on every front. The guitars twinkle and the vocals shine in ways that surpass many of his previous efforts. The crazy canuck has done it again (I promised myself I would no longer describe him as “gap-toothed“).

Listen below.

Another One is out August 7th via Captured Tracks.
