Listening to the new Palberta track “Roach Goin’ Down,” the thing that strikes me the most is that it feels kind of like edging. It’s these beautiful shimmerings and echoes falling all over each other. I didn’t exactly realize it was doing anything for me until the track ended and I’m flushed and out of breath.
The debut track from the upcoming album of the same name, Roach Goin’ Down, barely makes it over the one minute mark which makes it even more disarming—the track is humorous, sneering, and witty all of which is hidden in a trojan horse of three young women with nubile voices clinkering and building into harmonies before falling into peaceful bouts of chaos.
