Ishmael Butler and Tendai Maraire, aka Shabazz Palaces, have released the first track off their upcoming sophomore album, Lese Magesty . After the success of trip hop industrial rap groups such as Death Grips, the hip hop world is ready for more experimental avant garde projects like Seattle bred, Shabazz Palaces. “They Come in Gold” is a heady piece with complex rhymes matching haunting beats. “ It’s shaking on real lies until essence has been raised, sepulcher, a stage alive our ghosts floating off the bags of the blood-encrusted dough. Far fuel, for simple it is him.” It tears the listener into two because the beats and the lyrics are equally impressive and deserve attention. Hot Damn, Shabazz.

Matt Daniels may need to rethink his list of rappers with the best vocabularies.

Lese Magesty is out July 29th via Sup Pop.
