Listen: The Sediment Club “The Payoff”

Brooklyn based No Wave/Punk band The Sediment Club is never easy to listen to. And that’s not a bad thing, the grinding guitars and hyperactive drums provoke the sort of anxiety within the listener that makes them want to sprint 100 yards or burst into a head banging dance number. However, “The Payoff” off of their new album Stucco Thieves sounds strangely upbeat. Less anxious, and more energized. Though the music is still decidedly not for the faint of heart, there is something shockingly light in the guttural screaming that has become a staple of The Sediment Club’s sound.

The band’s third full length album Stucco Thieves is set to be released May 25, 2018 and will be their second LP release on Wharf Cat Records. This new nine-song LP will mark 10 years since the band’s formation in 2008, continuing their commitment to celebratory abnormality and rebellion.
