TCPS2.0 X Alt Citizen presents ‘Future Pi’ group show on view @ Alt Space Nov 19-Dec 6

Alt Space Presents:
Future Pi

A group exhibition featuring interactive work from new media artists
Exhibition Dates: November 19 – December 6
Opening Reception: November 19 | 7-9pm

New York, NY [November 19, 2015] – Alt Space is pleased to present Future Pia group exhibition curated by Emi Kariya of TCPS2.0, featuring interactive work by new media artists Beau Burrows, Terrell Davis, Joygill Moriah, Dan Baker, James DeVito, Smomid, Ranjit Bhatnagar, and Emi Tekpax.

Future Pi aims to introduce fun and innovative ideas inspired by the open source movement because technology in art creates new ways of interacting with objects and ourselves, and may uncover new meaning.

The year Google launched, the tech world adopted the term Open Source; software for original source code that was made freely available, redistributed, and modified. The term and direction for transparent information sharing became standard by the time the first Gmail account invites were sent out in 2004 and from there on, information has been readily available on the internet and for free. By modifying codes provided online through platforms such as Arduino, artists are able to create something that we’ve never seen before. The opening reception will be held at Alt Space (41 Montrose Avenue, Brooklyn) on November 19 from 7-9pm, with a special performance by Honnda, and the exhibition will run from November 19th through December 6th.
