Electro Hip Hop Princess, Azealia Banks has released a futuristic video for one of the more poppy dance tracks off her long-awaited debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste which dropped last week. Drawing influences from Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, TLC, Lil Kim and other greats, the video for “Chasing Time” is a glossy black and white conglomeration of dance moves , sci fi graphics and iconic outfits from some of our favorite classic videos like this one.
Although Banks may be struggling to find her image, it is clear that she has found her voice in this track and throughout her surprise album. There is something so New York , nay so Harlem about Banks that you can’t help to love her (despite the drama) and replay this song all weekend.
