Watch: Cloud Nothings “Now Hear In”

Cloud Nothings’ video for “Now Hear In” is an existential crisis tripping on something heavy. It strikes a nostalgic chord in me with its use of “found VHS footage” and classic avant-garde vibe. Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs would approve of this video’s creative insanity. There’s probably something wrong with you if you haven’t watched this video yet. There’s a void somewhere in the middle of your chest that can only be filled by the disruptive visuals of a man walking around in a paper-mache head. I’m going to set up a projector and have this play on my ceiling every night as I try to fall asleep so I can wonder how “a simple life can be so strange.” This video channels the emotion of the song so well it’s frightening. It’s possible that you may have an emotional breakdown after watching this thing thirty-six times in a row. Cloud Nothings should make videos like these for each song off of Here and Nowhere Else so I can have a movie to go along with one of the best records I’ve heard this year. Watch below.

Here and Nowhere Else is out now on Carpark Records.
