Watch: Dilly Dally “The Touch”

Toronto punk band Dilly Dally stays true to their roots. The four-piece band is fresh off of their rave reviewed CMJ run in which we were gifted with a chilling cover of fellow Torontonian Drake’s love ballad to the city, “Know Yourself.”  Dilly Dally has made a name for themselves creating innovative and provoking videos such as “Purple Rage” and “Desire.” Last month the band dropped their first album, Sore and recently unveiled their latest video for their pungent track, “The Touch.” Lead singer and guitarist, Katie Monk dives headfirst into their dreamy goth induced black and white visuals which concludes in an eruption of white feathers and noise.  The entire hazy video acts as a Blair Witch meets The Craft inspired clip as she lets out cries over vibrant guitar riffs evoking both rage and power.  Dilly Dally’s early 90’s influence is indisputable as Katie Monk embodies the sheer rawness of Kim Gordon with a Nirvana punch. With incomprehensible lyrics grunted by Monk this video is oozing with authenticity and confidence. They speak to a new generation by inventing their own rules.
