Watch: Kendrick Lamar “Alright”

After catching flak from conservative news hosts for his recent BET Awards performance of “Alright” (specifically the line “And we hate po-po/ Wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho”), our boy K. Dot fired back by releasing the stunning black-and-white visual for his To Pimp A Butterfly cut. Kendrick visualizes his meditation on police violence in the stark, seven-minute opus, where he appears as the hood’s superhero, transcending both criticism and negativity until he’s finally shot down by said law enforcement. And yet, he’s still able to pull through with a smile for the haters.

Watch below.

To Pimp A Butterfly is out now via TDE/Interscope.
