Watch: Lana Del Rey “Shades of Cool”

Our ears hear Lana Del Rey’s hushed voice coo “My baby lives in shades of blue” but our eyes see an older gentleman with good looks and crow’s-feet driving a convertible in Malibu. This is all happening during the video for “Shades of Cool,” which just dropped amidst the afterglow of Del Rey’s long-awaited LP Ultraviolence.

The song itself is very sultry jazz bar (like the sexier version of her “Blue Velvet” rendition), while the video is more dark Disney princess romance—if that makes any sense at all. Throughout, Del Rey dances with fireworks, swims in front of the handsome blue-haired man and eats a juicy strawberry. It all leads up to their sweet, cinema-worthy embrace (and then some) at the end. Watch below.

Ultraviolence is out now via Interscope.
