Watch: Surfbort “Dope”

Staying sober never seemed so cool. In Surfbort’s latest music video, “Dope”, lead singer Dani Miller sings through her mascara stained tears about leaving drugs behind. She stumbles down the Hollywood walk of fame and straight into her lover’s tinfoil clad arms in a DIY home-video haze (directed by Gilbert Trejo). It’s a slower, more melodic approach than their typical balls to wall punk we all know and love. Subverting society’s beauty standards and social norms amidst coming out about her relationship with drugs, “Dope” is arguably Surfbort’s most personal release to date. Watch below.

You can follow Dani Miller and Surfbort on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook. Surfbort’s debut record Friendship Music is out now via Cult Records/Fat Possum.
