Celeste and Jesse Forever tells the story of a 20-something couple dealing with a divorce (Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg). Only problem is they’ve been together since high school. This leads to some awkward firsts as both are suddenly free to experience the highs and lows of single life. From first dates to juggling their mutual engaged best friends, the former couple/BFFs must set awkward boundaries to try and give life without the other a fighting chance. But when Jesse’s new girlfriend unexpectedly gets pregnant, it leaves Jesse with an impossible decision while Celeste ponders what could have been. Written by Jones and Will McCormack, this story will resonate with anyone who lost a best friend after a breakup. Jones and Samberg have great chemistry and accurately portray a couple that has too many inside jokes to keep track of. Although this dramedy is heavily packed with emotion, familiar faces like Samberg will keep SNL fans entertained.
