Review: Island Twins @ “Secret CMJ House Show” (10/19)
The crew behind Brooklyn’s favorite electronic cigarette purveyors, Bedford Slims, put together an ideal escape from some of the less desirable CMJ constituents – i.e. long lines and pricey drinks – by organizing an awesome little CMJ house party. Along with free booze and “vapourettes,” guests were bestowed with live music from a bunch of talented, local acts. Island Twins, the adorable “Queens fuzz pop” trio totally stole the show in the afternoon, as they filled the outdoor space with their funky, fuzzy low-fi sounds. They’ve performed at a slew of Brooklyn locations in recent months, and will be back with shows at Glasslands and Silent Barn in November.
