Presented by project:nyc, Colab Projects, and the Art Directors Club, a new, monthly film series called Selections + Selectors will be held at the Wythe Hotel’s screening room. The goal of Selections + Selectors is to move away from the traditional model of film screening/Q+As and make one that integrates the audience into the experience, and in a more intimate setting. After each film, moderator J.L. Sirisuk will lead a conversation on subject matter loosely related to the film. Vinyl only DJ sets, themed to the subject matter of the film screened, will follow.
February 3 is the first screening and will feature Sam Cole and Jonathan Turner’s Danchi No Yume (Dreams of the Projects). The panel discussion includes Charlie Aheard (Wildstyle), Eric Shiner (Director of the Warhol Museum), Wills Glasspiegal (featured on NPR‘s All Things Considered), and illustrator Bill McMullen (album art for the Beastie Boys’ Hello Nasty).
Come out and celebrate diversity in art and music and a genuine exploration of ideas through open discussion. Event starts at 6:30pm. More info here.
