Cloud Nothings cut loose the surprisingly perky single “I’m Not Part of Me” today, the first offering from their highly anticipated upcoming album Here and Nowhere Else. In contrast to the dark, dominating vibes found on their breakout success Attack on Memory, this track is more subdued and free-spirited, polished though still lovingly lo-fi. They seem to have found a sweet spot with the combination of their signature uptempo drive and some newly found warmth, with Frontman Dylan Baldi admitting in the midst of a catchy pop melody how he’s “learning to be here and nowhere else.” I suggest we all follow his lead and drop everything else, if only for this fun four and a half minutes.
Fall into the good time below.
Cloud Nothings’ Here and Nowhere Else is out April 1st on Carpark / Mom + Pop.
