Midwest hardcore juggernaut La Dispute has been uncharacteristically quiet these past few years. After releasing Wildlife back in 2011, it seemed like the central focus of the genre bending five-piece was to clock in as many hours on the road or in the studio, and then some. Now all that kineticism has been released in one swift sucker punch in the form of La Dispute’s explosive new single “Stay Happy There.” The track opens with tremoring guitar and Jordan Dreyer’s frantic spit-howl riffing on the band’s usual themes of paranoia, alienation and resentment with a newfound East Coast saltiness. Give it a listen below.
