Now that Matangi finally has a release date(11/5), M.I.A. has shared a glitchy and subdued track from it. “Unbreak My Mixtape” is M.I.A.’s most lovelorn track to date. She samples the almost too-sappy “Tender” by Blur and Karen Dalton’s “I Love You More Than Words Can Say.” I’m definitely a fan of her ambitious sampling, but can’t say this song really won me over. Hopefully she gets back to making bangers like this one, or lovesick songs that sound like this. Check out “Unbreak My Mixtape” below.
