It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from The War on Drugs. If you’ve forgotten, they released the excellent Slave Ambient all the way back in 2011. Such a simpler time, back then. The band has a announced a new album, titled Lost In The Dream, which will see release in March of 2014. To coincide with this they have gifted us with a wonderful song from the album, “Red Eyes.” It has a lot of the genetic makeup of The War on Drugs’ earlier work, with driving drums and listless guitar. The use of synths here really make it stand out. They still sound like they were tailor made for long drive montages in movies as well. Give it a listen below.
