Listen This Week: Lowertown releases “I Like You A Lot”

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Lowertown released the sweetest of songs. The Atlanta-based bedroom pop duo of Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg dropped “I Like You A Lot,” last week ahead of their third album Ugly Duck Union out May 22nd.

With lofi guitars and delicate melodies, “I Like You A Lot” captures the beauty of a young, naive crush. Throughout the track, Osby and Weinberg trade places singing lyrics in a Pastels-like fashion. Their straightforward, innocent lines—“I need you like the blood inside my veins / I need you, you’re burned into my brain”—build the ultimate indie-pop love song. Luckily, it’s a love that is requited. It doesn’t get much sweeter than this.

Make sure to see Lowertown play Bowery Ballroom June 27th.
