Woman’s Hour have gained some notoriety for releasing a few singles and remixes here and there, including a cover of Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love.” The London four piece managed to gain the attention of Secretly Canadian, who have signed the band. Hopefully this means they will be putting out a proper debut soon. For now, we have a new seven inch, featuring “Her Ghost.” They also have some tour dates, which you can check out at the bottom of this post.

“Her Ghost” starts from a single note, and builds from that with a drum beat and synth. It actually pulls this back quickly, and allows for lead singer Fiona Burgess’ vocals to carry the song, before jumping into a more fully realized compostion. It all feels like it’s recorded in a dream, with reverb soaked guitar and synth that floats in the background of the song. This style fits the lyrics as well, dealing with the loss of someone, in this case the titular ghost, who seems to be haunting the singer. It all comes together pleasingly. Listen Below.
