On Saturday, October 25th, Osees began a two night run of sold-out shows at Warsaw.
Following opening performances by Leila Bordreuil and DMBQ, Osees took the stage Saturday night. The band started their set with Carrion Crawler and I Come From the Mountain, before frontman John Dwyer told the crowd that Sam Smith tried to steal the date they booked. “He didn’t get the slot, because the owners had our backs,” Dwyer thanked the venue and the fans who sold out the show months in advance, then grinned and said, “Fuck you, Sam Smith,” before launching into Rogue Planet.
Osees’ heavy psychedelic chaos is unmatched. It’s loud, fast, and relentlessly inventive, no song feeling too much like the last. With two drummers there is a strong and layered sound, and the keys tie the chaos all together.
The crowd lost their minds – including me, who crowd surfaced in the hopes of taking a good photo.
Long live Osees.
