- @, the experimental folk-pop project of Victoria Rose and Stone Filipczak, was born over text messages and conceptualized between two cities. Post Mind Palace Music, @ released Are You There God? It’s Me, @ January 12th. The duo knows no bounds to convention.
Tuesday 1/20:

- With a sound verging on country, Georgia Maq writes of citronella scented summers and sunsets; ballads soft and sweet.
Wednesday 1/21:
- Union Pool: Richard Lloyd Group (of Television), City Ice, The Disappearing Act
- See one of the greatest. Richard Lloyd, an iconic guitarist and founding member of Television, is playing Union Pool.
Thursday 1/22:
- Mercury Lounge: 12 Rods
- 12 Rods disbanded in 2004, but is back on tour. I am a firm believer that Make out Music stands the test of time.
- Sony Hall: Renny Conti, Pan Arcadia, Mary Shelley & Bay Faction (solo) + mer marcum (DJ Set)
- All My Friends returns with a stacked line up. Singer-songwriter music, punk, electronic, this bill checks every box. Sometimes the most varied shows are the most fun.
Friday 1/23
- Baby’s All Right: Blood Cultures
- Experimental indie pop band Blood Cultures is playing Baby’s All Right January 22nd and 23rd for the release of Skate Story: Vol. 1. I feel like the group wants to be Blood Orange, between the choice to conceal their faces from audiences and riffs in songs resembling Uncle ACE, there is some intangible artistry the band is trying to achieve.
Saturday 1/24:
- Bowery Ballroom: @, Been Stellar, Golden Apples, Holidays in United States, ICKY! (DJ), Joyer, Lip Critic (DJ), Maurice (DJ), MGNA CRRRTA (DJ), Sharp Pins, Widowspeak
- Talk about a STACKED lineup. Ground Control Touring presents their fourth annual Abortion Access Benefit Series in partnership with NOISE FOR NOW (NFN), a nonprofit specializing in reproductive justice. All proceeds from this show will go to NFN who will then allocate the raised money to local independent abortion clinics and funds.
- Baby’s All Right: AFK, Death Drive, Epoxy, Blix
- Paintbox Records presents Death Drive’s Annual Birthday Bash. What makes a birthday even better? The release of Death Drive’s new single Make Up Your Mind.
Sunday 1/25:
- TV EYE: Sharp Pins, Badger Hunt, Oldstar
- Kai Slater of Sharp Pins released his second album Balloon Balloon Balloon this November. An album full of the same jangly, Byrd’s like tunes as Radio DDR, Slater again proves he is a beast. Between Sharp Pins and Lifeguard, all I can do is admire Slater’s work ethic.
