Live Show Round Up 12/8 – 12/14

Mon. 12/8

  • Bowery Ballroom: Snocaps
    • If you missed Snocaps on Sunday, don’t fret. The alt-country super group (Waxahatchee, Allison Crutchfield, MJ Lenderman, and Brad Cook) are playing a second sold out night at Bowery Ballroom.
  • Nightclub 101: Brutus VIII, Bloodsports, Judson Kolk
    • Brutus VIII prides himself in rejecting preconceptions. His performances are known for verging on performance art, and Brutus VIII’s new EP Do it For The Money breaks already intangible boundaries.

Tues. 12/9

Weds. 12/10

Thurs. 12/11

  • Carnegie Hall: Cameron Winter
    • The man of the moment. Cameron Winter, the frontman of Geese, is playing his debut solo album Heavy Metal at Carnegie Hall. Winter’s work deserves to be played in a venue like Carnegie Hall, a symbiosis of art and songcraft.
  • Nightclub 101: Smush, Ky Voss, Mope
    • You could see TAGABOW… or you could satisfy your shoegaze itch with Smush. The band’s album if you were here, i’d be home now careens, reaching up to the reverbed heavens.
  • Warsaw: Jay Som
    • Belong is Jay Som’s first release in six years. In the time since Anak Ko, Melina Duterte’s produced for Hatchie, Beabadoobee, Jeff Tweedy, and boygenius. You can feel Duterte’s production prowess in Belong, the LP is coated in a poppy sheen.
  • Webster Hall: Sir Chloe, Suzy Clue
    • Sir Chloe’s new album Swallow the Knife was inspired by A Cold Hole, an installation by artist Taryn Simon. In the piece, an individual enters a room, climbs into a hole, and jumps into ice water. Swallow the Knife doesn’t have the depth of a frigid plunge, but tracks like The Hole and Holy teeter on instability.

Fri. 12/12

Sat. 12/13

  • Elsewhere: babymorocco, Moonbby
    • babymorocco gets it. He knows what I want to dance to. You might know babymorocco from his recent features with Frost Children and Jockstrap, but don’t sleep on his solo work. i wish you would make it easy and SXC are certified bangers.
