Live Show Round Up 6/1 – 6/7

Mon. 6/1:

Tues. 6/2:

  • Elsewhere: Vinyl Williams, Tall Juan, HOTT MT

    • Vinyl Williams, the project of LA based musician Lionel Williams’, lush dream pop is hypnotic, floating within a summer breeze. William’s new album Star Harmony holds an intrinsic warmth, bringing a summer feel in or out of the sunshine.

Weds. 6/3:

  • Elsewhere: Keo, Ken Park

    • Brothers Finn and Conor Keogh are the core of Keo. Spending their childhood touring in their father’s traditional Irish folk project, the brothers recently started their own alternative rock band. Rooted in London, the band is inspired by the burgeoning UK scene—this show is for fans of Been Stellar and Wunderhorse.

Thurs. 6/4:

  • Madison Square Garden: Phoebe Bridgers

    • Phoebe Bridgers is playing a last minute show at MSG and tickets are only a dollar. To request a ticket, hit the link by 11:59pm on June 1st.

  • Elsewhere: LOS THUTHANAKA

    • Los Thuthaaka’s collagic and experimental dance music can only be found on Soundcloud or bandcamp. But once you find it, there’s no going back. Organically ephemeral, each track is its own momentous journey.

  • Irving Plaza: Jane Remover, Dazegxd

    • Gov Ball After Dark presents Jane Remover at Irving Plaza. Truly, what’s a better way to celebrate the start of Gov Ball than raving to Dancing with your eyes closed? If hyperpop isn’t your vibe, Gov Ball After Dark is also bringing Turnover to the Warsaw Thursday night.

  • Record Grouch: Zoh Amba

    • Zoh Amba, Matador’s most recent signing, is playing a free release show for Eyes Full at Record Grouch at 7pm this Thursday. I was at Zoh’s sold out Nightclub 101 show a month ago, and believe me, this show will be a scene.

  • Nightclub 101: GIFT, Whisper Doll

    • In their latest single Pinkhouse Secret Rave (Redux), GIFT’s trades their trademark slowcore psychedelic rock sound in Illuminator for a brighter electro vibe. Who knows what sounds the band’s next album will explore.

  • Transpecos: Natalia Catalan, ideasforconversations, Kambaba, Jasper

    • The Trans Music Archive brings a bill to Transpecos to celebrate the release of Natalia Catalan’s new album Die Without Makeup. With songs rarely exceeding two minutes, each track is able to warp multiple melodies and blend both analog and digital sounds into an unified whole.

  • Union Pool: Runnner, Why Bonnie

    • Runnner’s latest single cowboy cologne is alt country inspired pop for those who miss the vast wilderness and winding country roads. The track carries a sense of slow comfort, a reprieve from the city’s quick pace.

Fri. 6/5:

Sat. 6/6:

  • Elsewhere: Rockie Rode, Samba Jean-Baptiste, Izzy Goldbow

    • Rockie Rode’s album Rockie is one of my favorite releases of the year. Dreamlike and honest, each song off the album is unique; telling a tale of heartbreak andlaced with nuanced production.

  • Maria Hernandez Park: ISTA, Cab Ellis, Native Sun, Laveda

    • Free show in Maria Hernandez! This bill is bound to be loud, and will be heard up and down Knickerbocker. Get ready to rock (outside edition)!

Sun. 6/7:
