mādar, an Iran Relief Exhibition, opens Friday

Opening this Friday, Melika Abikenari and Golnar Adili bring “mādar,a benefit exhibition to the CUE Art Foundation to raise emergency funds for people in Iran. Although a fragile ceasefire is in place, critical infrastructure in Iran has been damaged or destroyed, and millions — already burdened by years of economic crisis, inflation, and U.S. sanctions — face the threat of displacement, food insecurity, and long-term instability.

“Mādar,” the Farsi word for mother, brings together artists spanning generations and disciplines—from Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan, Iran to Brooklyn, New York—in a collective gesture of solidarity. Each work is available for purchase with proceeds supporting the humanitarian relief efforts Moms Against Poverty and additional initiatives supporting people on the ground in Iran.

RSVP to the exhibit’s opening reception Friday, May 15th, 6pm – late. The show will run until May 17th.
