Mixtape: Hurting on the Inside

“I’m packed with broken glass and memories and it all hurts.”

Few could capture emotional pain with the unapologetic poignancy of Henry Rollins, who penned the above quote in his ode to solitude, Solipsist. From insurmountable heartbreak to major league disappointments, life can tend to throw some punches below the belt. Sometimes these heavy blows spur a team building exercise between your head and your heart. Other times it makes you realize that survival is a fight, not a supposition. On some cruel occasions, there’s no poetic or justifiable reason for your pain — it just exists as a part of you, as real as your quaking hands or tired eyes.

This mixtape is for those moments when a divine breed of hurt leaves you blinded, when raging pain reduces you to little more than a blank space, when the only thing that could possibly keep you whole is a song. Press play and press on.
