Ezri Appel is a NYC-based filmmaker and photographer drawn to the unclean and unresolved. Working across directing, editing, cinematography, and photography, Appel moves instinct-first — capturing real lives and weaving dreamlike narratives that don’t explain, they linger.
Their films surface in underground rooms and artist-run festivals, from NewFest and GRRL HAUS Cinema to Lincoln Center, placing Appel firmly inside the indie and queer film continuum.
