Music industry webinar: Creative strategy behind LGBQT+ artists

It goes without saying that the music industry has been put through the wringer the past few months in the midst of Corona. But there has always been a disparity between the financial and commercial success of white, cis artists and artists both of color and who are part of the LGBQT+ community.

The Color of Music Collective was started to amplify the voices of people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals working in the music industry. Their goal is to change the lack of representation for these groups in music by uniting the community.

In support of their mission, The Color of Music Collective will be hosting a panel via zoom TONIGHT at 7:00PM EST/4:00PM PST on the “creative strategy behind LGBQT+ artists.” The panel will have a variety of industry professionals including Sarah Mary Cunningham (Jozzy Columbia Records), Brian Meiler (BMG), Lee Doud (JJ | LA), Rick Marcello (Awal + Flat Pop Records), Catie Monck (Melissa Etheridge), Fabienne Leys (Hayley Kiyoko), Sean Patrick Rhorer (Julien Baker),  and Telgate.
