Music Video Breakdown

“Bagboy” by Pixies

Basically a visual guidebook on what to do with an empty house:

1)   Steal credit card and go grocery shopping.

2)   Set off multiple smoke bombs and fireworks around the house. (Because everyone dreams of being trapped in a house full of smoke…)

3)   Use expensive china sets as a drum kit and smash them into tiny pieces.

4)   Soak (and eat) in a bath of Froot Loops.

5)   Fill hallway with a hundred balloons and proceed to run through them.

6)   Blow bubbles and hit them with a baseball bat.

7)   Use said bat to smash anything breakable.

8)   Fill house with toilet paper and silly string.

And then we discover that the little shit actually tied the homeowner up to her bed. Yikes.

“Bring The Noize” by M.I.A.

In some undisclosed urban city, M.I.A. rocks some wild hairstyles, surrounded by people dressed in white. She and her posse drive through streets filled with smoke to get to an underground club inside of a warehouse. There’s a cow, some interesting video effects, a bit of dancing, and there’s your video.

“Despair” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Drunk Karen O has something to say. So she gets on top of a table at this bar and receives some praise from people who may or may not actually be there.

Then she teleports to the top of the Empire State Building while it’s still dark. In faithful member manner, the rest of the band joins (with all of their gear), and they rock out to the sun rising over the city. Karen O. jumps around and…what?! They rented a helicopter to snag that final shot? Yes. They did.

“F For You” – Disclosure

Have you ever wanted to see Disclosure live? Well here’s what it looks like: Lots of lights and lasers and two handsomely dressed men playing around on synthesizers and electric drums.

The boys also like to flash this look:

I’ve been on a nineties kick lately. Anyone else with me? How about this classic ballad?

“The Way” by Fastball

And FYI, the song was inspired by real-life couple Lela and Raymond Howard, who decided to take off on a trip despite the both of them being in poor mental health conditions. The elderly couple was found dead in their vehicle outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas a couple days after they left their home in Texas.
