Read: David Byrne ‘Will Work for Inspiration’

Modern Renaissance man and former Talking Head David Byrne took to the Internet this week to lament the state of culture in New York in a very readable 2,000-word essay for Creative Time Reports. From his (presumably plush) perch in Venice, Italy, Byrne encourages Wall Street bankers to make like the Medicis and build more bike lanes. If you can look past the broad strokes he uses to paint the current job market and lifestyles in Asian business capitals, Byrne makes a heartfelt and sentimental plea for the city that fostered his own creative development.
