Industrial hip hop group Death Grips just released another free LP, N***** on the Moon, which is only the first half from their upcoming double LP, the powers that b, they’re releasing for free online. As you know and I know you do, Bjork is featured on all eight tracks. She confirmed via FaceBook:

i am proud to announce my vocals landed on the new death grips album ! i adore death grips and i am thrilled to be their “found object” ! i have been lucky enough to hang and exchange music loves w/ them and witness them grow !! epic : onwards !!

Death Grips are the perfect band. You could listen to their music appropriately in every situation. For instance: Baby making? Death Grips. Getting a CT-Scan? Death Grips. Picking up striking paper at the store? Death Grips. So I was happy to hear when they signed with Epic Records, for no other reason than wanting to see them get paid. Then they got dropped and we got a free album and then another free album and now another free album.

This one picks up right where they left off, making music that nobody else is making. Full of noise, perfectly placed seemingly random samples, Bjork, and great hooks; Say hey kid, tops my list, with Voila coming in a close second. The whole album makes you want to do things, anything. Go out and get drunk or stoned with friends, study, write, draw, swim in a pool, eat pizza, whatever, anything, with everyone! It just makes you want to get up and do everything. Have you ever listened to music that made you want to listen to music? That sounds confusing. What I mean is N***** on the Moon makes you want to clone yourself a bunch of times so you can listen to more music. They’ll break your brain. From beginning to end, N***** on the Moon, left me green with envy. These guys are doing exactly what they want and answering to No One. You can’t help but feel inspired by them.

A lot of rappers and groups who are more commercially successful get a lot of credit for doing things no one else is doing, when in fact, it’s mostly music that has been done before, just repackaged with a prettier face. I speak about no one in particular 🙂 But I mean, No Love Deep Web’s cover had a penis with: No Love Deep Web written across it. Now with N***** on the Moon, they added Bjork. Death Grips are simply doing it their way and we’re getting it for free.
