RIP Magic are “London’s buzziest band.” Now, hype is reality: RIP Magic released their new single “Stadium Drive” and announced their debut album 1, 2, 3 arriving October 30th via section1.
Bandmates Marco Pini, Felix Bayley-Higgins, Beth Boswell-Knight, and Pedro Takahashi are no stranger to sampling. Fascinated by ostentatious aspects of American culture, RIP Magic sized up 1, 2, 3 to a pulsating and colossal scale. Songs like “Stadium Drive” embody that spectacle—a soundtrack for a brash racetrack, speeding with full throttled velocity. A rock record sans guitars, 1, 2, 3 collides live drums and bass with synths and vocals, producing an electroclash sound that feels as though it’s already been remixed.
Fresh off a stint touring the States with LCD Soundsystem, RIP Magic are coming back stateside this November for their first-ever U.S. headline shows. Catch them at Nightclub 101 on November 12.
