Sarah Meth releases “Horses”

London-based producer and singer-songwriter Sarah Meth returns with the release of “Horses,” a twinkling ballad that spins a tale of love and letting go. With the lilting and melancholic verse “horses will be horses,” Meth likens love to an untamable animal and achingly accepts that a person cannot be controlled and is better off free. Hovering over the realms of dream-pop, jazz, and folk, Meth incorporates her own wit and humor to tell intimate stories about contemporary relationships, identity, and the trials of living in the modern world in her work. The result is a product that is romantic and devastating, tender and deliciously raw.

“Horses” is also accompanied by a self-directed stop motion music video. Following the journey of a toy horse yearning for a love lost to the waves of the Atlantic, the video spawns daydreams: seeing yourself gazing longingly out the window of a train, scrolling through flights and dreaming of that one-way ticket. From now on, these fantasies become present in each and every horse you come across.

The release of “Horses” follows Meth’s USA debut earlier this year, delivering a heartfelt and intimate set at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas. However, Meth has been developing a compelling reputation within London’s independent music community for the past couple of years through the curation of live performance collaborations featuring artists such as Cameron Picton of My New Band Believe and Mary in the Junkyard, joining artists such as Sorry and King Krule on tour, and slots at festivals like Latitude, End of the Road, an All Points East.

“Horses” settles perfectly into the enchanting artistic space that Meth has developed, though it has a vulnerability to it that makes the track feel much more personal and tangible. It listens like a diary, but is the diary hers, or is it yours? It is here where the magic in Sarah Meth’s work lies.
