Shame redefine a Christmas classic with “Baldur’s Gate”

Christmas music is often unrepresentative of the actual mood of the season. Yes — ideally we’re all holly jolly, but it is the dead of winter, there is minimal hours of daylight in a day, and it can be a bit fucking depressing. Instead of leaning into the commercialized manufactured joy, Shame has created a more honest atmosphere on “Baldur’s Gate”. Because what really says the holiday season like the urge to “rip off my skin”.

“It’s another Christmas classic,” shared Shame frontman Charlie Steen. “It’s about a period of time in which I’d regularly be trekking up to the streets of Edinburgh to see an ex-partner. These are some of the thoughts I’d have when I’d be leaving Waverley station, en route back to London in the winter nights.”
