East Anglian duo The Healing Power of Horses recently signed to Partisan Records’ sister label section1 and released their debut single “i wait, i sink.”
The Healing Power of Horses work emerges from an isolated attic, where the outside world is an afterthought. Nonconformist and genre-bending, the duo’s blown out march in “i wait, i sink” dissolves into a weightless melody, a delicate counterpart to the track’s heavy verse. The band’s only other work can be found on bandcamp, where The Healing Power of Horses released a single tape recording made with No Soap in Glasgow. Within these recordings, the influence for “i wait, i sink” is easy to trace. Still brooding and glowering, The Healing Power of Horses want you to know they’re still in that attic next to a church attempting to fix a Coway AirMega Air Purifier. But, self isolation means one important thing, more music is on the horizon.
