Tour Diary: Beechwood Summer European Tour

Beechwood is the Brooklyn band we don’t deserve. As their own song states, they’re “sweet like heroin honey” — laced with a little bit of darkness and danger. Gordon Lawrence from the band shared some photos and thoughts from their most recent European tour with us — check ’em out below.

This is our third tour of Europe in the last 13 months, and it’s gotten more fun each time. I can easily say that this was the least stressful, and most exciting tour we’ve ever done. We got to hang and play with a lot of our friends’ bands like King Khan LTD and Baby Shakes, and also made new friends with bands that blew us away like The Schizophonics and Handsome Jack. I bought a little 35 mm point and shoot before the tour to document some of the downtime in between the gigs, enjoy!

TOUR PREPARATION

DAY OFF IN AMSTERDAM

VAN LYFE

I think we did an average of 5-6 hours in the van a day, I mostly slept, occasionally awakened by Max (our tour manager) screaming and cursing in French at his fellow motorists.

MAX

Our tour manager. He could be an asshole, but he’s our asshole. If your TM isn’t an asshole sometimes, then you need a new TM. Love ya Max.
