Video Premiere: Brian Lopez “Crossfire Cries”

Need something for that biting, bitterly cold start to your work week? Don’t worry — Brian Lopez has you covered. This Tucson-based singer-songwriter crafts tight, psychedelic jams that leave you lost in the sunshine of your mind, and his new video for “Crossfire Cries,” a single from his sophomore album Static Noise, is a shining example of just that. Interviewing for a job in a stuffy office at a stuffy company, Lopez escapes to his imagination the second Mr. Boss Man leaves the room, enlisting the help of a few (see: countless) action figures and toys. The video’s quick, carefree humor pairs seamlessly with Lopez’s deft guitar playing, inviting vocals, and rich, pop-savvy melodies, making our imaginations a seriously tempting retreat for right now. Which is to say we couldn’t be any more stoked to provide you with this perfect midday distraction — just don’t blame us if your boss catches you slacking!

Static Noise is out now on Funzalo Records.
