This summer, FKA twigs is dropping her much anticipated debut, LP1, on London-based label Young Turks. In preparation of this, she’s given us a taste of what’s to come in the form the new song “Two Weeks” and its accompanying music video.
She may be unintentionally channeling Aliyah in Queen of the Damned, but twigs is, without question, a goddess all her own. The video shows her, larger than life, sitting on a simple thrown, surrounded by an ensemble of fluid yet jittery dance servants. While “Two Weeks” is certainly visually compelling, it’s the track’s dreamy fusion of R&B, hip hop and twigs’s uncompromising vocals that steals the show.
