Fucked Up have finally readied the follow-up to their lauded 2011 concept album David Comes To Life. Out this June via Matador Records, Glass Boys marks a significant turn for the aging hardcore band, abandoning the cinematic scope of their previous record to achieve some personal intimacy, as evident from the first single “Paper The House”.

The track’s video — a live performance shot in black-and-white at one of Toronto’s Long Winter events — perfectly captures Fucked Up’s signature energy and stage presence while not completely distracting the listener from the music itself. Lead vocalist Damian “Pink Eyes” Abraham’s ferocious snarl floats over the feedback and blazing percussion as poppy guitars echo through the mix. The short breakdown at the 2:38 mark lets the song both breathe and build before exploding, like clockwork, back into the celebratory chorus. Watch below.
