Watch: Mykki Blanco “High School Never Ends”

Rapper Mykki Blanco just dropped a new track & video entitled “High School Never Ends”. Like Romeo and Juliet reimagined in rural Germany, the video shows the forbidden love between Blanco and Tobias Kagelind. While the video is obviously about homophobia and LGBTQ violence, it’s also about the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe. “I had once thought Europe was my safe haven from American white supremacy, and how wrong I became,” Mykki Blanco told Fader. The video is intense, beautiful, and there are many casualties – just like Shakespeare would have wanted it. “High School Never Ends” will appear on Mykki Blanco’s new album. Watch it below.
